I’m a 47 year old mother of 3 who was diagnosed with stage 2b synchronous bilateral breast cancer in September 2013. I completed chemo and radiation in August 2014 and have been slowly but surely recovering from treatment ever since. Trip is my river name. In June 2015 I had the amazing experience of a kayaking trip with First Descents on the Hood River with some of the most amazing people I have ever met. My nickname fits on many levels. I had three tumors, three kids and more than one person chuckled when they heard it as they thought it referred to my reputation as a bit of a klutz. I decided to use Trip for because when I hear people call me “Trip” it always makes me smile as it reminds me of one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had, and my wonderful FD Tribe. I’m not really sure where I’m headed with this adventure, but I know I need to launch it. We need a cure and sitting on shore won’t get us anywhere. I hope you will join me.
